TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ALLAN DREW FUNERALS 2020 APPLE PIE BAKING COMPETITION

Event Name: Allan Drew Funerals – Apple Pie Baking Competition.

Event Date: Tuesday, 19th May 2020.

Event Time: 10am to 2pm, Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Promotional Period: Opens Monday, 2nd March 2020 and closes Thursday, 14th May 2020.

Age Restrictions: Entrants must be either 16 years or older. All entrants under 18 need to have a signed consent form from their parent or guardian that states they have permission to enter and participate in the competition.

Registration: All participants must register their entry into the event by Thursday, 14th May 2020 in order to participate in the competition.

Prize: The participant with the winning home cooked apple pie will receive a $500 cash prize in the form of a prepaid EFTPOS card.

Judging: Core judging partake between the hours of 11.30am to 1.30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Entries: A maximum of three (3) entries are permitted per entrant however each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize in the promotion.

Winner: There will only be one (1) major winner who will redeem the $500 cash prize, in the form of a pre-paid EFTPOS card. The winner must be present to accept the prize.

Entry Procedure: To enter the competition, the entrant must register during the registration period. Entrant must provide their full name, address, phone number, email address, signature and date on the registration form. Entrant must read and accept all terms and conditions. Entrant must submit the registration form either in person or via email to kirsten.power@allandrewfunerals.com.au.

Pie Submission: Pies must be checked in by 10.30am on Tuesday, 19th May 2020. No late entries will be accepted.

Conditions:

·         Apple pie must be prepared and baked by the person submitting the entry for judging. Upon submission, each pie will be allocated a number for judging purposes.

·         Entrant must be an amateur cook. No professional caterers, cooks or bakers will be allowed to enter the competition.

·         Entrants must provide a list of all the ingredients used and a receipt to show that the elements were purchased for the creation/submission.

·         Entrants must provide a recipe for the creation.

·         Entrants must provide photos of their creation being made.

·         All elements of the creation must be cooked – no raw elements will be accepted. This includes fruit.

·         All elements of the apple pie must be home made. No store-bought crust, dough or canned fillings will be accepted.

·         The apple pie must incorporate a base crust. The crust must be made from scratch and include either a top crust or lattice.

·         The apple pie must be submitted on a disposable plate as the team at Allan Drew Funerals can not Guarantee the return of your serving dish.

Judging Criteria: The promoter will engage the services of a judge to determine the winner in accordance with the judging details.

1.       Appealing Presentation: Judges will be looking at the overall appearance of the pie.

2.       Flavour of the pie.

3.       Texture of the pie.

4.       Presentation: Judges will be looking to see if the apple pie is presented in an original or innovative way.
