Since 1980 Allan Drew has been caring for all the families in the Hills District and surrounding areas by helping them commemorate the life of their loved ones with dignity and compassion.

In Allan's Words

“My father was an unbelievably proud gardener, and when he died I felt that the appropriate place to hold his funeral was in his garden. But back in 1980, I found it difficult to convince a funeral director to do it,” says Allan.

“At the time, I was working as a real estate agent in Parramatta and coincidentally I purchased a property that had a funeral business attached to it. I ran it for a year, then sold it and bought a real estate agency. But during the next year, as a real estate agent I arranged 100 funerals. My wife sold the houses, and I arranged the funerals.”

“Not long after that a colleague suggested I start a funeral home in Castle Hill, which is where Allan Drew Funerals has been located ever since. The Drew family is very involved in the business and will be for many years to come. My daughter was even married in our beautiful chapel!”

Thanks to Allan’s reputation for service and professionalism, Allan Drew Funerals now has two conveniently located funeral homes in the Hills District, including the well-known chapel on Old Northern Road at Castle Hill.

Allan’s service to the community is also second to none. In 2009 Allan Drew was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his services to the community which included:

• Being an active Lions member for 18 years.
• As a volunteer for Kenyon International and GAIN (Global Aid Network), Allan has travelled the world to assist in disaster recovery. In 2004 he travelled to the Tsunami affected areas to assist with clean up operations on an almost unparalleled scale. In 2005 Allan assisted with the transport of remains of those killed in the Bali terrorist attack. 
• Allan has also made many other trips to countries in South-East Asia to deliver medical and other aid.
• Being a supporter and charity auctioneer for countless local charities such as St Gabriel's School for the Hearing Impaired and Motor Neurone Disease Research. A comprehensive list of all of Allan’s activities in support of the community is available on request.

Allan's priority is to ensure each service is specifically tailored to uniquely reflect the life and interests of the individual. Attention to detail is fundamental in all that we do. That is why families of the Hills District have come to rely on Allan's service for more than 35 years.
