ANZAC service

Date: 19/08/2011

As part of our regular ANZAC Day activities, Allan Drew Funerals will attend the ANZAC Day service at Arthur Whitling Park in Castle Hill and will lay a ceremonial wreath.

Allan Drew is a proud supporter of the RSL and recently visited Gallipoli Cove to pay his respects to those who lost their life there.

"I consider it a great honour to play a part in the Castle Hill service - one of the biggest services I believe  - which publicly commemorates ANZAC Day," said Allan Drew.

The traditional Anzac Day wreath which Allan Drew will place at the war memorial is made up of laurel leaves and red poppies. Ancient emperors and the first Olympians were honoured with laurel wreaths, which have come to represent bravery and victory, while the horseshoe or round shape of the wreath symbolises eternity and the circle of life, Poppies have traditionally been associated with Remembrance Day, but are also used in Anzac Day wreaths.
